The Youth Employment Resource Centre (YERC), located at teh Nelson & District Youth Cenre (NDYC), is hiring a Youth Employment Workshop Facilitator to assist with the delivery of employment services to youth by developing, marketing and facilitating a Workshop Series for youth in addition to providing service delivery in outreach communities. This position is based on a 35 hour work week, Monday - Friday.

Duties:
-Work front-line with youth in the drop-in resource centre & provide one-on-one assistance to youth seeking employment in the form of resume and cover letter writing as well as skill and barrier identification.
-Bring YERC Services to the Outreach Communities of Kaslo, Slocan, and Salmo a minimum of once an month; minimum twice a month in the summer.
-Host or facilitate one "So you wanna..." or Youth-at-Work workshop a month, including all aspects of advertising and promoting it to youth.
-Facilitate the various one and three day Job Readiness with Certification Workshop Series including all aspects of advertising, and intake with interested youth.
-Maintain and enhance community profile by attending special events in various communiteis, and continuing partnership with various Community Service Providers, Teachers and schools.
-Market, promote and arrange workshop delivery with local groups and schools.
-Maintain necessary documentation and statistics and prepare monthly reports.
-Complete miscellaneous administrative and operational tasks.

Required Experience:
-Previous training and/or experience in delivering employment services an asset
-Experience in workshop development and facilitation
-Proven success in working with youth, youth at risk and youth-related issues
-Minimum grade 12 education, supplemented by post-secondary training would be an asset.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
-Valid BC driver's license and access to vehicle.
-WCB Level One First Aid would be an asset.
